Kay van der Horst has joined the United Nations’ Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx) as a Senior Expert Advisor, where he is dedicated to advancing translational climate and health innovation. In this role, he aims to foster scalable and sustainable health innovation ecosystems, with a particular focus on strengthening resilience and equity in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Leveraging his extensive experience in global health security and strategic program implementation, Van der Horst is working to catalyze innovative solutions that address the intersection of climate change and health, while promoting equitable access to transformative technologies, partnerships, and resources that empower communities in LMICs to build stronger, climate-resilient health systems.
