Very grateful to have had the opportunity to join forces with the United Nation’s Health Innovation Exchange to announce at COP 28 the inception of the Climate & Health Innovation & Equity Fund (CHIEF), an initiative addressing the intersection of climate, health, and equity. CHIEF aims to build climate-resilient and equitable health systems through investing in and accelerating innovations, breaking the silos, and building systems and capacities for the most vulnerable. I also deeply enjoyed the opportunity to moderate a distinguished and diverse panel of global thought leaders on climate, health, and equity at the hashtag#COP28 CHIEF announcement event. The objective of this panel was to explore the opportunities and challenges for CHIEF in tackling the complex challenges presented by the impact of climate change on health and equity.
